Annie Lennox elected to be a part of Royal Society of Edinburgh

Previous Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox is a single of 80 new fellows to have been elected to join Scotland’s countrywide academy of science and letters.

The Royal Modern society of Edinburgh (RSE) awards a fellowship to men and women from the arts, small business, public service, civil culture and academia whom the organisation’s judges deem to have built outstanding achievements for social progress and progress.

This year’s team will be joining the RSE’s current fellowship of about 1,700 superior-flyers who are recognised as currently being some of the finest thinkers, scientists and practitioners doing work in or with Scotland now.

In addition to toping the charts with the Eurythmics, Lennox also had a distinguished, award-winning, solo vocation.

She is also chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian College, the founder of The Circle: a non-revenue organisation of girls doing work together to accomplish equality for gals and ladies, and was previously particular envoy for the Scottish Parliament.

Speaking about staying nominated as a fellow of RSE, Lennox claimed she is “truly humbled and honoured”.

“Apart from a life span of songs-making, my ardent passion lies with the most very important problems struggling with all of humanity at this precarious point in time, specifically the sustainability of our valuable earth and the true implementation of human legal rights and justice, most primarily relating to the lives of women of all ages and women in all four corners of the globe,” she mentioned.
